and sing it, from the past to the present, to the future
Capricious music, rise and fall of syllables, are life’s vicissitudes
Hope my song is interesting, though not romantic
There are many highlights of my life that can not be replayed,
That will vanish into thin air if I don’t hold them tight
For this reason I must inscribe the turns and twists in music
Without this proof, memory can not bear the load
I’ll play it with my fingers if my voice wears,
Sing it with memory if my fingers are maimed
Thought like the floating cloud; feelings resemble streaming water
Sing as long as I am alive
Born to be sentimental; my heart filled with tender feelings
Hope to touch your soul with my songs
and wake up your sleeping senses
as gently as the dragonfly flits across the lakes
Let’s witness these halcyon days
If I become alone one day,
Let this song be a pledge of memory
Let me sing the song nonstop; let it last for ever
