滄海一聲笑 [A laugh heard in the vast sea / Swordman Theme] - Sam Hui 許冠傑 {Cantonese 94}

A laugh heard in the vast sea(in a vast sea, a single human voice is heard, very dramatic scenario for a character introduction)

Tide rise and fall from both side of the shores(tidal movement has been going on for eon, thus make a single human life seem  Immaterial)

drifting with the  waves, only care about today (here and now)

Heaven laugh, this hectic mortal world ( laughing at human's pointlessly struggle against each other in the eyes of the immortal sky)

Heaven already knew who win and who lose

River and mountains laugh (at the human of course), misty rain far away.(rain don't care)

Tides came and tides went, (time gone by) carried away  how many great men and heroes from this mortal world with it?(countless)

cool wind laugh, bring fore loneliness.

All that youthful unyielding  spirit in the world,  would eventually be dimly Illuminated by only the sunset light.

(hear)The common people laugh, (the hero)no longer feel lonely.

……(my )unyielding  spirit is still alive (I) laugh too.

P.s
Original on the web: 濤浪淘盡紅塵俗世幾多「嬌」but it should be 「驕」
People call 成吉思汗(Genghis Khan)「一代天嬌」「天驕」as in 「天之驕子」(Favored son of the Heaven).
幾多驕 here mean how many great men and heroes
