In a town in the north lives a southern girl
She always likes to wear a flowered dress and stand on the roadside
She doesn’t say much but her smile has a kind of calm melody
What’s in her graceful eyes? Thoughts of sadness
The south’s rainy winter isn’t as cold as in the north
There she doesn’t need big clothes to cover her water-like face
The scent she leaves on the street as she comes and goes suddenly brings heartache
But in the blink of eye the aroma’s flown away
Oh southern girl, are you used to the cold north autumn?
Oh southern girl, do you like the northerner’s sincerity?
The days pass just like those sleepless nights.
She chews a piece of gum and tells her dreams to the wall
Oh southern girl, we’ve all been just getting by for so long
Oh southern girl, are the tall buildings blocking your hopes?
Yesterday’s rain dripped down her frail shoulders
She dries clothes in the courtyard under the sun
She tosses her head in in the breeze
Oh southern girl, do you love the north?
Oh southern girl, you say you want to go home today
Longing makes folks’ hearts ache, she calls for your tears
The fruit in the south’s already ripe, that’s your simple dream
nice song!!! like it: )
